Welcome to the world of FlowMap!

"I would not give a fig for the simplicity this side of complexity, but I would give my life for the simplicity on the other side of complexity."
    Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr (1841-1935)

FlowMap in Context

Management-NewStyle was founded in 1990 by David Howard to provide business process management advice.

The FlowMap System provides the 'social means' and FlowMap Software the 'technical means' to deploying systems thinking and process working within organisations.

The development of FlowMap has been influenced by the work and example of many people, but in particular mention should be made of Karl Popper, Walter Shewhart, Homer Sarasohn, Edwards Deming and Myron Tribus.

FlowMap Software is aimed at providing a tangible bridge between the brain and the computer so that the gap between the real and the model worlds can be kept as narrow as possible - as was recommended by the inventor of stored programmable computing, John von Neumann.

In communicating information, the challenge of the 'last mile' is said to be the main problem. In fact there is a bigger problem: it is the challenge of the 'first metre' - the person to person, or brain to document, divide. The FlowMap System provides a business management tool with a socio-technical means to overcome the problems of this 'first metre'. With FlowMap, essential connectivities are identified sooner.
